The Honest-1 Auto Care franchise opportunity is a general service shop, offering primarily oil changes, brake checks, and other basic services — but two things distinguish the garage from competitors. The tastefully appointed lobby is comfortable and has a fully-stocked play area for children, a coffee maker with French vanilla capuccino and free wi-fi. Two weeks ago, Tom Dombrock and Fred Haynes debuted their latest venture with an Honest-1 Auto Care franchise — an eco-friendly auto repair shop that caters specifically to women.

A Salute to our Veterans

by Eric Stites, Franchise Business Review

In honor of veterans everywhere on this Veterans Day 2011, the team here at Franchise Business Review is proud to present the first-ever special report... Veterans and Franchising. Thank you for your service to our country, and please enjoy this unique report that explores today's top-rated franchise opportunites based exclusively on the independent satisfaction ratings and reviews by nearly 2,000 military veteran franchise owners.

A growing number of franchise brands offer special incentives to new franchisees with military experience. Although many organizations have set out to look at the “best” franchise opportunities for veterans, until now, none of these listings included data on actual veteran franchisee satisfaction and performance—perhaps the most telling data of all. Franchise Business Review’s Veterans and Franchising 2011 is the first report to look at which franchise opportunities are most veteran-friendly based on franchisee satisfaction.

To compile the data for this report, we surveyed nearly 2,000 military-trained franchisees, representing 178 brands and more than 60,000 franchise units. We also interviewed senior executives and franchisees at several brands for their first-hand perspective.

From this data, we identify our list of Top 100 Franchises for Veterans, which includes companies with above average satisfaction among the veteran franchisees we surveyed. We also narrowed that list down to recognize the top 10 franchise systems with the most veteran franchisees and above average satisfaction, as well as an overall top 10 ranking the franchise brands with the highest satisfaction among operators who are veterans.

If we can assist you in your franchise research in any way, please give me a call directly at 603.433.2266.

Happy Veterans Day!
