I just read this in the May 14 issue of The New Yorker and wanted to pass it along. Richard Branson, CEO of Virgin Atlantic (and about 130 other "Virgin" brands) says about entrepreneurship:
I don't think I am different really from any entrepreneur. You have to stick you neck out on occasion. You have to make bold moves, and sometimes you come close to betting everything. In my speeches, I will always say you have to protect the downside. But there have been occasions when I have asked my wife to sign a bit and paper. And she would say, "What's that, dear?" And I would always say, "Don't worry," when it was actually the third mortgage on the house.
